Success Stories
At Nerdian, every project is a chance to turn complex ideas into tangible results. From medical devices and blood pumps to handheld instruments and custom-engineered prototypes, these stories highlight how disciplined engineering and creative design come together to deliver real-world impact. Each success story showcases a different side of our work — rapid development under tight deadlines, compliant design for regulated products, and elegant solutions to technical challenges. What ties them all together is a shared commitment to precision, collaboration, and building things that last.

Pulsatile Blood Pump – Collaborative Engineering and Rapid Development
We partnered with our client's team to help accelerate development of their next-generation physiologic blood pump, supporting mechanical design, rapid tooling, and part verification for the program.

CloudView IQ
From Prototype to Legacy: CloudView IQ Still Running Strong
When a client asked us to design an intelligent network hub that fit inside a commercial ceiling fixture, we knew it would take some creative engineering. The goal: integrate wireless access, PoE switching, and a custom UPS system into a compact, plenum-rated enclosure.
The result — CloudView IQ — not only met its technical goals but continues to operate flawlessly years later. It’s proof that well-designed prototypes can stand the test of time, powering innovation (and a few home offices) long after the initial launch.

Accelerating Innovation Through Integrated Design Partnership to design a Peristaltic Pump
A medical device company developing a next-generation blood pump invited us to help lead their mechanical design and prototyping efforts.
By embedding directly with their internal team—attending weekly design meetings, evaluating prototypes, and shaping system architecture—we helped them move from uncertainty to momentum. Within weeks, design clarity improved, iteration cycles shortened, and the team’s overall pace accelerated.
As the client put it, “You have significantly accelerated our timelines, educated us, and brought some novel solutions into the fray.”

Turning a Concept Into Flow — Designing a new Blood Pump
For our client's next-generation blood treatment system, we helped transform an idea into a working prototype — a compact, portable blood pump that proved the concept’s feasibility and inspired the next stage of development.
The pump prototype combined mechanical, electrical, and fluid design to deliver smooth, consistent flow while minimizing power use and footprint. Seeing it in action was the best validation of all.

Designing a Smarter Field Testing Device
When a client came to us with an early concept for a handheld field testing device, we took it from rough prototype to a fully defined, manufacturable design.
The device unfolds to reveal LED “wings,” a built-in camera, and onboard computing — all packaged in a rugged handheld unit designed for roadside use. We handled the mechanical, electrical, and assembly design to bring the concept to pre-manufacturing readiness.
The result: a professional, integrated product architecture ready for prototyping, testing, and future manufacturing transfer.

Preserving Performance — Reverse Engineering a Rare Motorcycle Component
When a Yamaha R7 owner needed to replace an impossible-to-find battery box, we used 3D scanning, CAD reconstruction, and precision additive manufacturing to recreate the part from scratch.
With high-resolution scan data and modern materials like Nylon SLS and FDM, we produced a functional replacement that fits perfectly and matches the original form.
It’s a small example of how engineering precision and modern fabrication can breathe new life into legacy machines.
