The Artificial Heart is Here!

Having spent much of my career as product designer in the LVAD/Artificial Heart field, I am always interested in artificial heart history. I am now the proud owner of a vintage Life magazine from 1981 proclaiming"The Artificial Heart is Here". Interestingly this article was featured just before the famous Dr. Barney Clark was implanted with a total artificial heart in 1982. This magazine really captures this moment in time for our industry very well, and I am very happy to be it's curator.
